Key Factors Determining Orthodontic Brace Costs in 2026
August 5, 2026
Crowded, gapped, or misaligned teeth aren't just an aesthetic concern; because they can't be cleaned thoroughly, they also pave the way for decay and gum disease. Orthodontic treatment is the most reliable method for permanently correcting these alignment issues.
The type of bracket used in treatment is the single most important factor in determining overall cost. Metal brackets are the most economical and durable option, while clear porcelain or sapphire brackets are less noticeable. Lingual brackets, bonded to the inner surface of the teeth, are completely invisible, and clear aligner orthodontics (like Invisalign) require advanced technology and carry a different budget range.
The severity of the problem also affects cost; correcting mild crowding is a different process from correcting skeletal jaw discrepancies, the latter requiring longer treatment time, additional appliances, and greater expertise.
Whether treatment is applied to one or both jaws also directly changes the price, since achieving proper bite alignment usually requires braces on both arches.
Treatment duration is another determining factor. Depending on the severity of crowding, orthodontic treatment typically lasts between 8 and 24 months; longer treatment means more materials used and more follow-up appointments.
The Turkish Dental Association (TDB) publishes a minimum price tariff every January, and clinics cannot charge below this floor; final prices are set by each clinic based on bracket brand, practitioner expertise, and digital infrastructure.
