Dentistry and Aesthetics

Dentistry and aesthetics is a field of dentistry aimed at giving patients not only good oral health but also an attractive tooth and jaw structure. Its guiding philosophy is to achieve the most natural possible tooth arrangement and elevate it to the highest standard. Modern applications rely heavily on technology; after evaluating the patient's mouth, jaw, and facial structure, an ideal digital image is designed.

The main goal of these treatments is to enhance a person's smile or resolve existing dental issues. Based on the patient's wishes, the dentist first creates wax mock-up teeth and tries them in the mouth to finalize the smile design, then uses digital scanning to produce permanent teeth indistinguishable from natural ones.

Aesthetic dentistry aims to improve the shape, color, position, size, and function of a smile. While cosmetic dentistry focuses purely on appearance, aesthetic dentistry combines a better look with functionality and oral health. Worn teeth, gum recession, discolored or misshapen teeth, and gaps between teeth are common issues that can affect a person's confidence.

Aesthetic dentistry treatments include bonding, teeth whitening, veneers, zirconia crowns, implants, pink aesthetics, and porcelain crowns. Zirconia crowns, being metal-free, provide a more natural appearance, are lightweight, and typically last around 7 years, though their lifespan depends on the quality of care.

Veneers are thin porcelain shells bonded to the front surface of teeth, used when full coverage isn't necessary, and they can correct minor misalignment and surface staining. In bonding, a tooth-colored composite is applied without removing any tooth structure to fix imperfections in appearance.

Porcelain crowns are applied over a metal framework and can save teeth with a solid root but severely damaged structure, or address tooth loss. Teeth whitening is the most common aesthetic procedure and is safe for most patients, while implants are a surgical solution that replaces missing teeth as closely to natural teeth as possible.
