Impacted Tooth Extraction in Ankara

An impacted tooth is one that remains trapped under the jawbone or gum tissue and cannot fully erupt; the most common examples are wisdom teeth trying to erupt between ages 17 and 25. Teeth that cannot fit in the jaw or emerge at the wrong angle can cause severe pain, infection, and pressure on neighboring teeth. Our clinic's oral and maxillofacial surgery team performs these procedures with patient comfort as a priority.

Impacted tooth extraction is the surgical removal of a tooth from within the jawbone. It becomes necessary in cases of severe pain and infection, risk of cyst or tumor formation, crowding, or decay of the adjacent tooth.

The process consists of four stages: diagnosis and planning first through panoramic X-ray or tomography, followed usually by local anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision in the gum to reach the tooth within the bone and, if necessary, sections it for removal; the area is then closed with stitches.

This is a surgical procedure requiring a high level of expertise and should be performed by experienced practitioners specifically trained in this field.

In the first 24 hours after the procedure, spitting and using straws should be avoided, ice should be applied to reduce swelling, antibiotics and pain relievers prescribed by the dentist should be taken as directed, soft, lukewarm or cold foods should be preferred on the first day, and mouth rinsing can be carefully introduced from the following day.

Pricing varies based on case difficulty, tooth position, anesthesia type, and the clinic's expertise; an accurate quote requires a detailed pre-examination and radiographic assessment.
