Root Canal Treatment and Fillings in Ankara
December 14, 2025
When tooth decay or trauma damages the nerve and vascular tissue inside a tooth (the pulp), there is a risk of losing the tooth. Root canal treatment, followed by fillings, is one of the fundamental dental procedures that preserves the tooth's natural structure and prevents this loss.
Root canal treatment involves removing pulp inflamed or infected by deep decay, cracks, or trauma, cleaning and disinfecting the canal space, and sealing it with special materials. Severe pain, sensitivity to hot and cold, gum swelling, and root-tip inflammation visible on X-rays are signs indicating the need for this treatment.
Thanks to modern root canal techniques, the procedure can usually be completed in a single session, and the tooth can be preserved in the mouth for many years.
After root canal treatment, or simply after decay removal, a filling is applied to repair the damaged part of the tooth. Composite (white) fillings are the most commonly used type, matching tooth color for aesthetic appeal and suitable for both front and back teeth.
When a large portion of the tooth is damaged but a crown is not yet necessary, porcelain fillings (inlay/onlay) are preferred; produced with CAD/CAM technology, they are harder and more durable than composite fillings, fitting the tooth precisely and reducing the risk of secondary decay.
Our clinic prioritizes pain-free procedures under local anesthesia, the use of magnification systems for delicate cases, biocompatible materials, and restorations tailored to the tooth's anatomy.
