Zirconia and Veneer Treatments

An aesthetic smile is a key factor in boosting confidence and social image. Discoloration, misalignment, and gaps between teeth can now be permanently corrected through digital dentistry, with zirconia crowns and veneers standing out as the two leading methods.

Zirconia crowns replace traditional metal-based crowns with white, durable zirconium dioxide. Because they transmit light similarly to natural teeth, they don't create a dull appearance, blend well with gum tissue, and avoid the gray discoloration seen with metal crowns at the gumline. Resistant to chewing pressure, they can safely be used on both front and back teeth, as well as for bridges replacing missing teeth.

Veneers, by contrast, are ultra-thin porcelain shells applied only to the front surface of teeth. Since most of the natural tooth structure is preserved, they require minimal intervention and, in suitable cases, can even be applied without any tooth reduction (No-Prep). Their smooth surface resists staining from tea, coffee, or smoking over time, and they can completely transform a smile in just a few sessions.

The key difference between the two lies in how much tooth is reduced and where they're applied: zirconia requires reducing the entire tooth surface, while veneers need only minimal reduction on the front. Zirconia can be used as a bridge to replace missing teeth, which veneers cannot; in return, zirconia offers extra resistance to fracture and chewing forces.

In our clinic, these treatments follow a fully digital workflow: 3D intraoral scanning replaces messy physical impressions, a mock-up stage lets patients preview the result with a temporary trial, and CAD/CAM-manufactured restorations are placed with precision. This process reduces margin of error while letting patients see the outcome throughout.
