Zirconia Crown

Zirconia crowns are a modern crown material that contains no metal substructure and, thanks to their light transmission, offer an appearance very close to natural tooth enamel. They provide an aesthetic and functional restoration for teeth damaged by discoloration, wear or decay.

Zirconia has superior properties in terms of both strength and biocompatibility; it is highly compatible with gum tissue and carries no risk of allergic reaction. Since it contains no metal, it does not cause the gray-blue discoloration (metal shadow) that can appear at the gumline over time.

During application, the tooth is minimally reduced, a digital or conventional impression is taken, and the crowns are custom-manufactured in a laboratory. The process is usually completed in 2-3 sessions, with a temporary crown used in the meantime.

With proper care and regular dental check-ups, zirconia crowns can be used without problems for 10-15 years or longer, and they show strong resistance to staining agents such as tea, coffee and smoking.
